The AINYFF Founding Board is comprised of a diverse group of high-profile Australians, who have many years of experience in both Australia and New York. These committee members represent a wide range of talents and backgrounds, which include editors, journalists, creative directors, publicists, photographers, supermodels and fashion designers.

Julie Anne Quay
Founder and president of Colac Pictures, Julie Anne is a founding member of the Australian Fashion Foundation. Previously, Julie Anne was executive editor of V Magazine and ran the studio for prolific fashion photographer Steven Meisel. Estee Lauder, Vogue Japan, Marc Jacobs and Richard Avedon are other stops on her career. An Australian native, from Balwyn Victoria, Julie Anne now resides in New York.

Malcolm Carfrae
Born in Sydney, and educated at the University of Sydney and the University of California, Berkeley, Malcolm lived in London for ten years, where he began his career in public relations, overseeing multiple fashion brands at a PR agency. In 2003, he was hired as VP of Public Relations at Calvin Klein Inc. in New York, and in 2008 was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President – Global Communications.

Richard Christiansen
Founder and creative director of Chandelier Creative, a full-service creative agency based in New York City with a diversified global roster of clients from the worlds of fashion, beauty, retail, travel and luxury lifestyle. Chandelier has also opened offices in Asia and the UK. With an expansive list of influential clientele, Chandelier has worked with Versace, Givenchy, NARS, Lane Crawford, Orient Express, Four Seasons, Bulgari, Old Navy, and 7 for All Mankind. Richard was raised in Duranbah, NSW and currently resides in New York.

Nancy Pilcher
Although American-born, Nancy Pilcher has spent 38 years as an icon of Australian fashion. The former VOGUE Australia Editor-In-Chief and Vice President, Editorial Development, of Condé Nast Asia-Pacific has been an international ambassador for Australian fashion and culture; Nancy is also credited as being responsible for Condé Nast’s successful foray into the Pan-Asian markets, particularly, the spectacular launch and growth of VOGUE China.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nancy graduated from New York’s F.I.T. and went to work for the retail store on Fifth Avenue called Bonwit Teller. She moved to Australia a few years later where she began her career in fashion publishing with Condé Nast and VOGUE Australia. In 1999 Nancy was promoted to Vice President, Editorial Development, Condé Nast Asia/Pacific. -
Stephen Lee
Polynesian born, Australian bred Stephen Lee grew up in small Australian coastal town of Forster/Tuncurry. Introduced to the Australian fashion scene after leaving school, he moved to Sydney and worked at model agency Chic Management. Moving to New York City in 2001 , Stephen Lee started immediately at Next Management and has worked as an agent since. Stephen's main goal in life is to be one of those people that walks into a room, lights it up and makes things happen.

John Melick
John Melick was born in Sydney and graduated from the University of Sydney and then completed his Masters in Communications at Boston University. He has lived in New York for more than 20 years. In 2000, he founded Blue Medium, Inc. a public relations firm specializing in visual arts, architecture and design. He also serves on the Advisory Committee for MIT’s List Center of Visual Arts and the boards of Non Objectif Sud (artists’ residency program) and Esopus (non profit arts publication).

Rob Newbould
Studying Architecture opened Rob’s eyes to design and photography, which lead him to assisting fashion photographers in both Sydney and London. Over his 20 year career as an agent he has managed models, hair stylists, makeup artists, fashion stylists, set designers, photographers and directors. In 2010 he co-founded the agency, 1+1 mgmt, in both NY and LA, working with clients such as Vogue Italia, L’Uomo Vogue, Muse Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Interview Magazine, Estee Lauder, Prada, Miu Miu, Biotherm, L’Oreal, Garnier, Dolce & Gabbana, Abercrombie & Fitch etc. Rob grew up in Mollymook, NSW and currently lives in New York.

Antony Todd
Making his international debut as an event ∓ interior designer in 1995, Antony founded Antony Todd, Inc. Based in New York, Antony Todd, Inc. has quietly amassed a high-profile and diverse clientele, including everyone from politicians and fashion designers to the New York social elite. Todd’s “smart, pared-back” philosophy combines the timeless beauty of period touches with the most elegant of contemporary designs.

Brana Wolf
Editor-at-Large for Harper’s Bazaar U.S. and a fashion consultant, Brana works with clients such as Versace, Michael Kors and Devi Kroell. She was born in Italy and moved to Sydney at age 3. Before moving to New York, she lived and worked in London and Paris.

Laura Brown
Features/Special Projects Director of Harper’s Bazaar, Laura joined the magazine in 2005. Prior to joining Bazaar, she was Articles Director at Details, and Senior Editor at W Magazine. Before she relocated to New York from Australia in 2001, she was Features Editor at Harper’s Bazaar Australia.
